Weiser Memorial Hospital Announces New CFO

Weiser, Idaho (January, 2017)

Weiser Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and hospital leadership, are proud to announce the selection of the organization’s next Chief Financial Officer (CFO),

Mark A. Christensen, from Burley, Idaho.

Christensen holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Boise State University,

is a Certified Public Accountant, and has earned Fellow designation in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA). His experience includes over twenty five years in healthcare finance with a focus on financial issues relating to critical access hospitals. Most recently he served 6 years as the Financial Director of Cassia Regional Hospital in Burley.

Steve Hale, Chief Executive Officer for Weiser Memorial, agrees that Mark brings valuable experience that will be very beneficial to the hospital. “I see Mark as an excellent fit with the leadership team and staff of Weiser Memorial Hospital,” stated Hale. “He joins us with both previous CFO and Critical Access Hospital experience, which I believe is essential to the position and helping to move the hospital forward. Add to that the fact that he has been working in Idaho hospitals the last 10 years and you have a near perfect match. I have high expectations for Mark and I know he will meet and exceed them.”

“I have spent much of my career working in small rural hospitals,” Christensen adds. “I have found that the environment is a great blend of the charm and personality of small organizations and communities, with the challenges and broad scope of hospital issues.  In my visits to Weiser, I have definitely felt a welcome and the extension of hospitality that made it easy to accept the offer to be the new CFO. I look forward to the opportunity to work at the hospital and become a part of the community.”

Christensen assumed his financial role the 9th of January.
